We started Sandhya Candles in 1991, after travelling extensively.
The magic of Dartmoor conspired to keep us here, and we have been exploring our creativity ever since.

THE MEANING OF "SANDHYA"

"The sun sets and the night has not yet come - The Gap.
In that moment there is a light which is not coming from the sun,
this moment in India has been called SANDHYA..........
From day to night there is a gap, when the day disappears and the night begins, a discontinuity.
Ordinarily SANDHYA means evening, but the mystics have used SANDHYA meaning meditation.
The have used it as an indication of a quantum leap, when you move from mind to no-mind."

ABOUT THE CANDLES

As well as using a subtle blend of essential oils and fragrances, our candles are handpoured with hot wax.
This process enhances the quality and lengthens the burning time considerably, compared to the compressed granulated wax method used in many commercially produced candles.
The candles are regularly tested to ensure optimum burning quality.

ORDERS AND COMMISSIONS

Sandhya Candles always welcomes commissions for any special event - eg weddings, birthdays, etc., in your choice of colour, fragrance and design. Please with your requirements.

FOR BEST BURNING RESULTS

Always burn candle on a fireproof receptacle
Keep wick trimmed to 1 cm
Avoid burning candle in a draught or near other sources of heat
Never leave burning candle unattended
